This is mainly a bug fix release with some new functionality.

Unless something major crops up, this is most likely the last release candidate build for version 2.1. We were able to sneak in the Air Density Calculator and some new translations and fix a few other small things.

Linux 32bit users – My build server for this has died. Working on fixing it. Sorry.

Over a year in the making we bring to you Version 2.1 Release Candidate 1. This will most likely be a very short release candidate as most of the features are well bedded in all current bugs that we know of in the release have been closed.

Here are the latest development builds for versions 2.1 and 3.0.

These install into different locations and the data files are in separate directories so that they don’t conflict. You need to copy/paste from your version 2 to your version 3 if you want to use your old files.

At this time I am unable to generate static Linux builds. The recent Strava patch introduced the need for the QtScript library. The problem is that when you have Qt built statically (which I have done) you cannot use this library and the QtWebKit library at the same time.
I have been building Qt and GoldenCheetah statically so as to allow the same executable to be used over may different Linux platforms. This is now no longer possible. I am going to attempt to learn how to use some different tools out there that may allow me to build GoldenCheetah in a dynamic way and allow for easy distribution to multiple platforms.
Until then, please use the information in INSTALL_LINUX file to build your own dynamic builds.

Here are the latest development builds of version 3.0.

For Windows and Mac, version 3.0 installs into different location and the data files are in separate directories compared to version 2.x so that they don’t conflict. You need to copy/paste from your version 2 to your version 3 if you want to use your old files.

For Linux builds, data will use your existing version 2.x directory. You will need to install VLC Media Player. Follow the instructions on the website on how to do this.

For Windows users, please do an uninstall before installing this version. It is built using a different build system and Qt is statically built in and so all the old DLL’s are no longer required. This version also has grown to approximately 30MB as I have bundled in all the dll’s needed from the VLC Media Player that handles all the video.

For all existing users of the Train tab, please make sure that you reset the layout before using this mode. This is done from the View menu, Reset Layout link. The Realtime Control chart has been removed and replaced with buttons at the top of the Window. A new Workout Library heading has been added where you select the Device to use and the Workout/Video (optional) that you wish to use. You must set a Workout Library in the Tools menu, Options link under the Settings tab. Any videos/workouts you put in there will appear in the Workout Library tab.

Here is the latest development build for version 2.1.

This will most likely be the last 2.1 development build.

We will be looking to update the translations and deploy a release candidate build very soon.

Once 2.1 is released, I do not plan to do any more builds as I will be focusing on the version 3 developments.
