Hi. Can you to be a little more descriptive please?
If this is something that you can reproduce, please can you log a bug report (see the Bug Tracker link on the right) so we can work on finding and fixing the problem.

Of course I am hoping that you are talking the software crashed and not you and your bike.
If you did crash your bike then I hope that you and your bike are alright

Been running it on Win Vista 32 bit, and getting it going on Ubuntu Linux, 32 bit.

update for what it's worth…… I did not get the 3.0 to run in Ubuntu Linux. I got the VLC going, downloaded GC and extracted GC to the same place and the same way as I have my 2.0 and got and this error message. "Could not open the file /home/greg/Golden Cheetah/GoldenCheetah_v3-32bit. gedit has not been able to detect the character encoding.
Please check that you are not trying to open a binary file.
Select a character encoding from the menu and try again."

I've been running 2.0 like a dream on Ubuntu 10.10….. and 3.0 on Windows.

I'll try the next update if there isn't any obvious reason this is not starting up.

Hi Greg,Try starting GC from the command line prompt in a terminal window.It sounds like you don't have the execute bit set on the file and itis Ubuntu thinks that the file should be opened by gedit.YOu normally can set the execute bit by right clicking on the GC fileor a chmod u+x filename from the command line.

Thanks, it was indeed an execute box that needed to be checked. It appears to be up and running now. I do like the way that is shares the data library with v2.0 so I can run them both….nice work guys.

My v2 (and v3) were running without a problem until some days ago. Lately GC (both versions) seems to run (a screen is popping up in v3 "refreshing data") and the icon will show up in the task bar. But I cannot open the screen anymore! I uninstalled both versions several times and installed them again on a Acer Netbook, (1.7 GHz, 1GB Memory, 250 GB HDD, Windows 7). I really NEED to go on using GC because I love it.

Windows 8 64-bit. Will be installing it tonight on my new HTPC which is where I use my trainer, and intend to use the real-time plotting
